We all hear the gloom and doom on the nightly national news broadcast. Some newly released numbers from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics cast a positive light on the Greenville South Carolina employment and jobs situation.

The report looked at employment numbers among all metro area work forces of 200,000 or more for the period of February 2007 to February 2008. Greenville came in fourth in the nation with job growth of 9,000 or 2.9%. This growth was 5 times the national average.

The Greenville SC Real Estate market continues to outperform the majority of markets in the United States.  According to GGAR our local MLS board, sales of single family homes for the first quarter of 2008 were lower by 20% compared to 2007. However the average sales price was up 4% and homes continue to sell for 97% of list price.
