I woke up this morning and heard the weather person on Channel 4 mention the "S" word. Yes, snow is in the forecast for tonight and Tuesday morning. I realize for many of you, snow is a regular event. However, in the Greenville area, we normally only have 1 snow event in a year and sometimes go a couple of years without any.

Most people here in Greenville welcome the sight of snow knowing that normally it is gone in 24 hours which suites us all just fine. The grocery stores always love the extra bread and milk sales with everyone preparing to be home bound for 12 to 24 hours.

This is just another example of why so many people choose to relocate to our area. We get all four seasons that most people want to experience but not the extremes that many parts…

The New Year is here and I wanted to take a look back at 2008 and review our Greenville SC real estate activity. 2008 was a disappointing year for the United States economy and the housing market suffered across the country. Many areas suffered through record depreciation in housing costs. While the Greenville area experienced lower numbers as for as homes sold, our property values have maintained 2007 levels.

Below is a brief recap comparing 2008 to 2007. These statistics are provided by the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors.
