The good news with our Greenville SC real estate market is that year to date we are up 5% in single family homes sold through July compared to 2009. The real estate market and the economy continues to be a challenge nationwide and now that the first time home buyers program is over, the housing market must stand on it's own.
Interest rates are at historic lows and currently in the range of 4.375% in our area. Inventory remains good in all price classes and locations in the Greater Greenville SC area.
Below is a recap of activity based on information from the Multiple Listing Service of Greenville, South Carolina, Inc. for single family residential home sales through July 31, 2010.
- There are currently 6,546 single family homes for sale with 901 of these being new/never lived in homes.
- In the month of July there were 441 homes sold for an average price of $183,038. These homes sold for an average of 5.5% off list and 94 days on market.
