The Greenville SC real estate market got off to a good start in January posting an increase of 17% of single family home sales compared to January 2011. We all know that one month does not a year make, but positive news is great in our current national economy. In the Greenville area like many parts of the country we continue to enjoy unseasonably warm weather and are loving it. Hard to believe that January 2011 we had snowfall of over 8".
Below is a recap of real estate activity for single family home sales based on information from the Multiple Listing Service of Greenville, South Carolina, Inc. for January 2012.
- There are currently 4,568 single family homes for sale. (This is almost 1,000 fewer homes than we had for sale this same time period in 2011.) 579 of these homes are To Be Built/New Construction Homes
- There were 377 homes that closed in January 2012 and had an average sales price of $182,513.
- Homes sold in an average of 113 days on market.
