Something that I always see is people claiming to be the "best" at this or the "best" at that. The truth of the matter is everyone can use one statistic or another and claim to be the best. With everyone out there chanting "We're number 1!" How is a person supposed to know what to do.

Here is some common sense advice that should help. Stop looking for the 'best' and start by looking for two things:

1) Experience / Professionalism - buying or selling a home is a BIG deal. It is important and you NEED someone who is full time in the business and who is a professional with years of experience. You need someone with a solid understanding and reputation to help you negotiate the little bumps that will inevitably occur. 

2) The RIGHT person that is

The first month of 2016 is in the books and home sales numbers were quite similar to last January. Homes for sale inventory remains low and is down 16% compared to this time last year. Interest rates are still attractive and good marketable homes are selling quickly. Below is a recap of activity so far this year:

  • There are currently 3,177 single family homes for sale in the Greenville MLS. 785 of these homes are new or to be built homes. This time last year there were 3,796 single family homes for sale.
  • During the month of January there were 560 homes that sold and closed. These homes sold for an average price of $198,600 which reflected an average of 3.5% off list price. Homes sold in an average of 77 days on market. During the month of
