Explore the natural wonders of the area at a Chimney Rock State Park Wild Mushroom Walk. You will be amazed at the variety of fungi growing along the trails of the park. The Wild Mushroom Walk experience is free with paid admission to Chimney Rock State Park.
The Wild Mushroom Walk is led by Karen Johnson who is a member of the State Parks and Asheville Mushroom Club. She will point out and identify some of the most common mushrooms growing in the area.This is a great opportunity for photographers, artists or any fan of the great outdoors to connect with nature! Whether you are already knowledgeable about local fungi or are simply hoping to learn more, you will find the Wild Mushroom Walk informative, relaxing and interesting.
To be a part of the Mushroom Walk on August 25, meet at Grady's Den at 11 a.m. The walk is limited to the first 15 people who arrive. Remember that you will not be allowed to collect or remove any mushrooms or plants from the park without a permit.
