Southwest Airlines Coming to Greenville
Southwest Airlines has announced they will be coming to Greenville SC and that service will start within the next 12 months. This is exciting news for our area as many of our business travelers have been forced to fly out of Charlotte or Atlanta due to higher cost tickets out of Greenville.
The arrival of Southwest Airlines will have an anticipated $80 million dollar economic impact for our area. In addition having a major low cost carrier in Greenville will greatly help in the recruitment of companies looking to relocate to our area. This provides a missing piece to the puzzle that will pay dividends in our area for years to come.
Southwest currently serves nearly 70 cities in 35 states and based on domestic passengers carried, is ranked as the largest United States airline.
