2012 was a good year for Greenville SC Real Estate. Single family home sales were up 19% over 2011 and the average price of sold listings was up 4%.

Below is a recap of activity based on information from the Multiple Listing Service of Greenville, South Carolina, Inc. for single family residential home sales for December 2012 and the year in review.

  • There are currently 3,923 single family homes for sale in the Greenville MLS. This represents a 13% decrease from the same time period in 2011. 548 of the current homes for sale are to be built or new never lived in homes.
  • During the month of December there were 549 homes sold compared to 446 for December 2011.
  • During the year of 2012 there were 6.881 single family homes sold compared to 5,954 sold in 2011. The average sold price in 2012 was $182,591 compared to $174,575 in 2011. Average days on market in 2012 were 101 versus 113 in 2011.

The Greenville real estate market is continuing to outperform most of the other major metropolitan areas and had healthy growth in 2012 and I have a positive outlook for 2013. Please let me know if you are considering purchasing a home in our area.
