March continued the positive trend we have been enjoying in the Greenville SC real estate market. Home sales are up 10% year to date and homes for sale inventory is still down from normal levels. Many new listings are going under contract in less than a week and multiple offers are becoming more common.
Below is a recap of activity based on information from the Multiple Listing Service of Greenville, South Carolina, Inc. for single family residential home sales for March 2013.
- There are currently 4,061 single family homes for sale in the Greenville MLS. 527 of these homes are to be built/new never lived in homes.
- During the month of March there were 608 homes that closed for an average price of $173,496. This represented a 3.4% discount off asking price and the homes were on market an average of 108 days.
- Year to date there have been 1,537 single family homes that have closed.
It is more important than ever for buyers to be working with Realtors that can provide them automated information when new listings come on the market that fit their needs. Buyers armed with current information are the ones getting the homes of their dreams.
