The International Center of the Upstate, located at 9 S. Memminger Street in Greenville, works to bring together people in order to share cultures and promote understanding. The International Center was founded in 1998, and since then, the center has helped encourage diversity, promote international business and welcome people of all nations. The International Center of the Upstate relies on important partnerships in the community along with donations.
The International Center of the Upstate provides services and clubs to the community including the International Relocation Program, International Women's Club and the International Book Club. The center also offers language lessons which help people experience a range of cultures and ideas. The classes are taught in an informal, comfortable setting. There are also Conversation Clubs available which help community members practice their new language skills in a fun, social atmosphere. There is an English Conversation Club and a Spanish Conversation Club. Common available language classes include various levels of English, Chinese Mandarin, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian.
