The 2019 Greenville Real Estate year has gotten off to a slow start. During the month of January the number of single family homes sold was down 20% compared to last year. One month does not a year make and I feel confident that we will slowly bounce back. In my previous post I predicted 2 to 3% growth for 2019 and still feel good about that prediction. Interest rates have floated up from the lows but still remain attractive. Homes for sale inventory remains lower than historic numbers and very similar to last January's numbers.
There are currently 2,992 single family homes for sale with 39% of those being new or to be built homes. During the month of January there were 580 single family homes sold for an average price of $248,459 which represented a 3.2% discount off asking price. These homes sold in an average of 65 days on market.
