Greenville Heritage Main Street Fridays are a great way to end your work week on a lighter note. You'll forget about your stressful week as you dance along and listen to some of the very best in musical entertainment. Main Street Fridays is a weekly music series that is held at NOMA square from March 21 through September 26. With such a wide variety of music, there is something for everyone at Main Street Fridays.
The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. and wraps up around 9:30 p.m. Each event consists of bands playing two sets, one at 5:50 p.m. and another at 7:40 p.m., but the event is so much more than just music. Kids will love the Kids' Zone where they can enjoy family-fun activities and inflatables. Music featured on Main Street Fridays includes blues, oldies, soul, blues and jazz music.
Join the fun on August 8, for performances by Mac Arnold and Plate Full O Blues. Mac Arnold has a varied musical history that includes working alongside the greats like James Brown in J. Floyd & the Shamrocks, A.C. Reed, BB King, The Temptations and many others. Mac Arnold's work also appears on television works including the "Sanford and Son" theme and work as part of the set band on "Soul Train."
On August 15, Citizen Mojo will be performing at Main Street Fridays. Citizen Mojo is made up of a team of seasoned musical veterans which work together to create soulful, compelling interpretations of soul, funk, blues and soul blended with rock n roll undertones. Get ready to dance for this show! High energy, top skill and lots of fun are the trademark of this thrilling, funky band.
Blues-influenced guitarist and singer/songwriter Eric Weiler will perform on August 22, giving a varied performance of songs that feature a combination of pop, rock and blues. The Eric Weiler Group consists of bassist Kebin Ahrens of the Jaywalkers/Honey and the Hotrods and Matt Morgan of Red Against Green and Smash the Radio. Kevin Mavis lends his talents as drummer to round out the band.
