Current single family homes for sale inventory is down slightly from last month which is not unusual for this time of the year. Many sellers are reluctant to have their homes on the market during the holiday seasons of November and December. Year to date home sales are still up 6% over the same time period last year.

Below is a recap of real estate activity based on information provided by the Greenville Multiple Listing Service of Greenville SC for single family home sales for the month of November 2014.

  • There are currently 4,246 single family homes for sale in the Greenville MLS. This number is down about 200 homes from October.
  • 844 of these homes for sale are to be built/under construction/new never lived in homes.
  • Average sales price of the homes sold during November was $189,250 which represented a 3.9% discount off asking price.
  • Homes sold in an average of 81 days on market

December will be an active period for home sales as builders want to reduce inventory and individual home sellers are motivated to get their homes sold before the pent up new listings come on the market in January. Please let me know how I can help with your Greenville area home search.
