Get ready for five days of intense competition at the 2014 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships. The event will run from August 28 until September 1, as 450 of the world's best athletes compete in the event known as the Super Bowl of Para-Cycling. Para-cycling is a cycling competition for athletes who have physical disabilities. The event is governed by the International Cycling Union. Categories are: Tandem Class for athletes who are blind or visually impaired, Tricycle for athletes who have an impairment which affects balance and coordination, Hand cycling for athletes with lower limb impairment. and Cycling for athletes who have a physical impairment which prevents them from competing in an able-bodied competition. The Para-Cycling Road World Championship will kick off on Wednesday, August 27, with the Parade of Nations at TD Stage of the Peace Center Amphitheater.
